If everybody had to be capable of using anywhere near the full potential of their sportbike as a prerequisite for ownership, then I'd venture that a vast majority of us would not be riding sportbikes.

I know that's what you'd like to see, but thankfully that's not a requirement.

I'd agree with your statement that it's fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow, but I'd tend to think that that credo is more true at the track than on the street.

Most of us here are street riders that share a passion for - not just motorcycling - but motorcycles in general.

If you're like me you spend a good deal of time thinking about motorcycles, looking at motorcycles and wanting to improve your motorcycle.

I say good for those of us who can build their dream machine, or even add on just the parts that they can afford. Whatever makes them a happier person is great.

**Don't I remember reading somewhere about some crappy bling that you put on a minivan?

Well said.

I have no desire to wad either one of my bikes on a race track or be an aspiring road racer/privateer.....I just want something fun to ride around town and take trips on, occassionally race on the drag strip and hit up meet n greets/shows etc. I want them to look and sound PERFECT and run strong....I also enjoy the relationships I build with fellow street riders and local sportbike enthusiasts....

Don't buy into all the "experience" BS either.....not everyone is into track days or learning to be Matt Mladin. Some of us just want to cruise on the street, have a good looking, good sounding bike that accelerates hard....

Ride smart, ride safe and within your skill level and you will be fine....>RESPECT THE BIKE.... That extra 10hp isn't gonna kill you...
