funny, the european respiratory journal failed to isolate the compounds that actually cause the problem. this is pretty useless, as they seem to just want to point out that they think it's more dangerous when combined with tobacco. not very well written, just well annotated.
I do agree that does likely have an adverse effect on your lungs, but not one so bad as too keep it illegal or too use that as it's reason to avoid it. I think it does more good than harm. unless you have a lung disease, then you shouldn't smoke anything ever.

please re read... does it matter that they couldn;t isolate it... they showed that it caused MORE DAMAGE... do you really need to know why?

in the present issue of the European Respiratory Journal, shows that the risk of developing lung cancer is higher in a population of cannabis smokers as compared with a population matched for associated tobacco consumption

In this population, the risk of lung cancer among cannabis smokers with 10.5 joint-yrs of exposure was 5.7-fold higher than the risk among noncannabis smokers.

Isn't that kinda biased way of wording though? Ok, smoking ANYTHING is going to cause a higher risk of problems than non-smokers. It doesn't say Cannabis smokers vs. cigarette smokers. I don't smoke, so this doesn't affect me, but come on. You can say that about anything. Oh people who eat butter has a such in such times more chance of causing heart attacks than non butter eaters. Well no chit. Did you get a degree for that?

ok, like azylum said, cigs don't impair you... alchohol does, and you can get many different tickets for it even though it is legal... DUI, DWI, public intox, disorderly conduct (usually alcohol related). get $hit faced in your house and not put my life in danger by driving and i don't care either way... but as of now it is illegal to posess

Do alcohol, cigarettes, heroine, X, or Crack have any medical pluses?

Next question, does Alcohol, Cigarettes (we all know, tobacco in these are not natural and are filled with tons of chemicals), heroine, X, or crack grow as a natural herb?

I think all the ones you compared to are manufactured, or chemically enhanced.

yes, Crack, aka cocaine, was used in coca cola back in the day... hence the name, they found how addicting it was so they made it illegal. and isn't morhine VERY similar to the effects of meth or heroin or something along those lines just not AS addicting? i know methadone is and there is a medical use for that

and if marijuana has a "medical plus" (rolls eyes) fine. do we need to legalize it to make it so the potheads can walk down the street and get high? wheres the medical use in that? and besides, they wanna use it for medicine, then extract whatever it is in the plant and put it in pill form. done.
