its an estate sale. tax places the house @ 220k, they;re asking 200k

if i were to go for it i would offer like $150-160tops cuz of the history.

sounds like a beast. when was the house built? ive seen alot of older houses up near ch. forest and up along 1960 through to i-45 go for around 150-160. problem is the houses were built in the 60's-70's, most need remodeling/updating... and that area is starting to fall to . if its not that area, you should be good...

I wouldn't let a past owner's mental illness stop me from making a good deal on a home for my family.
Having said that, I would try to use that as leverage for the best deal that I could get. Maybe you could tell them that you want tile floors in the living room but will have to pay extra to get the stains out of the concrete underneath...

go for it bro, if you can get that thing down to 150-160 thatd be a sweet deal. what are the prices/values on similar homes in the area (dont post here, just something for you to check yourself). u can go to zillow.com for values/recently-sold prices on houses near that one.

I did a little more digging, found out the husband shot his wife (she died on the way to the hospital) and then shot himself and he died on the scene. His body was at the house approx. 8 hours. All the downstairs has new carpet, can we say bloodbath much?

would you feel wierd knowing that if you were to buy or consider the house?
I would confirm the clean up was done professionally and ask for receipts/proof. Other than that, why not?

Only thing to consider is resale down the line, you will have to disclose that forever as far as I know so, keep in mind that it may be hard to sell the house in the future if that's the case.

why should you have to disclose that?!?! for the paraniod people? to me it doesn't make a bit of difference. i don't believe in ghosts or "haunted" people in a house, and if i did some how see one, i'd tell them to "**** off"
