Need help with lowering my bike

I have a 02 R6 and I want to lower it about 1-1.5 inch. 3 questions
1. Can I just lower it as is?
2. Will it dramatically effect the ride?
3. Who can help me out?

Thanks in advance

Re: Need help with lowering my bike

don;t recommend lowering the bike if at all possibble, learn to get off ahead of time..........i pretty much do. tippy toes on ever bike ive ridden

and if you do decide to lower it, make sure you do both ft and rear.

Re: Need help with lowering my bike

Chris,
I'm assuming you mean the rear? If it's your bike it would benefit from it.

Re: Need help with lowering my bike

lowering the ft or raising the rear quicken the turn in, so do you think you need it?

Re: Need help with lowering my bike

ASlthough lowering the front or raising the rear make it steer quicker, each has different effects.
Lowering the front will also reduce the trail making it less stable. Most late model GSXRs respond to raising the rear at the shock, 10mm is a good starting point.
