2006 Honda dealer show

FYI, an email I got about the Honda dealer show that just finished up.

Quote:
The Honda meeting in Vegas was a big disappointment. You will probably hear that from some of our clients. Honda seems to be more focused on other aspects of their company other than motorcycles. They have a 3 foot tall robot called Asimo. You may have seen him in the news over the last few years, as he looks like a mini-astronaut. He’s fully mobile, and is expected to be a huge hit in the health care industry (assisting those with disabilities in the home). They spent 30 minutes on this stupid “doll” during the show, and our dealers could literally care less. They also tauted their airplane engines.

They have no answer to the metric cruiser demand, and didn’t change a single cruiser model for 2006. They did revamp the CBR 1000, making it lighter with some new bodywork. Aside from that, they simply put electric starts on many of their off road vehicles, and claimed that those were “HUGE” upgrades. It was sad, really. They do have an airbag on the Goldwing bike which has hit CNN pretty heavily. Bottom line: They are behind in product development, and their product is becoming sub-standard. Along with that, they had a 30 minute “pitch” on becoming a Powerhouse dealer (Honda only). Bad vibes…

Yeah,
I wish honda would come out with a few more models, but I think the guy is a jack for saying their bikes are substandard. They still beat the rest when it comes to quality and craftsmanship. Thats what counts to me anyways. Let the flaming begin.

Re: 2006 Honda dealer show

I dont think there is a real reason to post that. That is one guys opinion of what he saw. Like some one else said, Honda has and will be number one on craftsmanship and quality. I happend to like the new model changes. The Goldwing is incredible to ride. For those that would be interested, I can put you on a demo.
