Experienced something freaky-cool Today

On my way home from U of H, I'm inside my neighborhood waiting at a red light (first person in line). My car windows are down at this point. The weather is a tad warm and humid. Out of no where, a gust of wind starts blowing. It was kinda weird because this gust of wind was freakishly cold. The wind was geting colder and colder and 5 seconds into it, it was uncomfortably cold. Just as I was about to put up my windows, a Huge lightning bolt strikes a tree about 30 feet in front of me. That had to be the loudest/brightest thing I've seen.. it honestly scared the out of me.

The light turns green and I hit the gas, only to find that my car isnt turned on. I then heard a line of cars next to me and behind me start their cars, as did I. I think maybe the charge from the lightening reached the ECU some how causing it to trip? It was kinda weird, every car that was waiting at the red light ended up turning off.

Sparks for the extra lazy:
Waiting at Red Light.
Noticed tempture went from disgusting humid to uncomfortably cold in a matter of 5 seconds.
Lightning stuck 30 feet away from me
Everyone waiting at the red light, their car's turned off (weird)
Im still waiting for dealership to call me about the 250.

light just went out for a few seconds in the house and came back on.. followed by a loud rumble bag pop.

Anyone else in Sugar Land (New Territory) experiencing this?

I just remembered something. I was watching TLC a long while back.. there was a special about people getting struck by lightning. One part of the show was explaining how if in a thunder storm, stay in your car, for if your car gets hit by lightning, it goes from the target point where it hit, straight to the tires, and to the ground, neutralizing the "electricity" I guess. They showed a video of this happening to a running car with artificial lightning.. showing how a person inside doesnt get harmed. The car kept running normally.

Whats the reason the cars turned off around me?

they also tested that theory on Top Gear and it was proven true.

prolly the electomagnetic charge surrounding the L-bolt overloaded your electricals momentarily.
