2008 ZX10R

Check out this months Fast Bikes and Bike UK as they both cover the new ZX10R. They are both claiming 170RWHP stock. In fact one of the test riders fastest lap was 8 seconds away from Casey Stoner's record at that track.

I will post what track, rider, time when I get back from school.

8 seconds would imply that it was a really really really long track.

no 8 seconds as in 8 seconds. Remember this is a stock 08 ZX10R against Casey Stoner's GP7 Desmo GP bike. One costs about 11k the latter is greater than 2 million dollars so . . .

Better yet lets see which one each of us feels comfortable on and likes the best. Then, lets go to the track so the really fast guys can blow us away on less powerful machines.

I'm tired of the HP war and how fast they are making bikes go. I wanna see a street legal 400 cc IL4 with about 85 HP weighing about 290 lbs wet with quality components, and costing under seven grand. THAT would impress me.

8 seconds per lap, 25 laps = 200 seconds = 3 minutes and 20 seconds.

mmm that is worth 2 millions in racing LOL

That's why Honda has attempted to stay away from "class leading HP #s." Useable power is where it's at. That's the bottom line.
The new RR will be more user friendly. It will be a lot lighter. It will be a serious track demon.
Just wait.

That also happens to be where Kawasaki put most of their effort into. Better low and midrange, getting rid of the crazy powerband. Not to mention the much improved front end feedback. The only 'popular' complaint with the bike is the Ohlins steering damper. . . which has seemingly been left unchanged.

I wonder why peeps don't like it. You have any testimonials (obviously not scripted/whatnot)?

Actually the 08 has less midrange than the 06-07, they concentrated their effort in to peak power this year, however it still seems to be a great street bike.
