He was weaving in an out of cars. Pretty close, too.
I really could care less about this dude. I just don't like the gf on the back w/ no protection.

You know what really gets me are the guys that have their helmet strapped to the rear of their bike instead of their head.

I certianly don't think death has am "appointment" for people. the whole free will thing. and common sense says the OPERATOR wears the helmet if there is only 1 available. putting it on the girl behind you is retarded. I wouldn't let a passenger ride without, but if it's impossible not to do, the rider wears it. the operator needs to be able to take a bug or rock in the face without crashing, which a helmet would prevent. but if he gets a bee in the eye and crashes, now they're both screwed. some guys think it's an honorable thing to do, but it's the complete opposite of common sense.
as far as decorating your seat with your lid, that's natural selection.

Perhaps they are uninformed hasn't anyone thought about this? Seriously, when I used to ride dirtbikes I wore a helmet that was 2 sizes to big and that was it. No gear protection at all. I was uninformed then, no one ever told me the proper gear that I should have been wearing and I never thought about researching it.

Some people are just not informed enough. They decide they want to buy a bike - they buy a used bike somewhere and do not do the research about safety. It is that simple. As for me - when I decided to get a street bike, I googled motorcycle safety. I watched 500 something videos on youtube and took the MSF before purchasing the bike. I spent countless hours reading and researching about street riding and safety.

So the next time you see someone like this - you should ask them why they aren't wearing any gear.

Good post, Brandon.

I think this whole topic has been beaten to death already. OK, so we know many of you guys that wear lids have a problem you need to share about those that don't wear lids. It's their choice, not ours.

irresponsible riders like in this case are appalling. I reaaly dont have any problem with the rider... it is his own life at risk. But a passenger with no gear is a whole different matter and reponsability... I hope never comes the event where they both end up on the tarmac with no gear. then, she will definetely have something to remember this guy for.
