I wish more people would understand this. Im in a position at my job where i of course report to higher people. But the some 50 or so people below me just don't understand when i report them for various reasons the reason why i do it. It's nothing personal just business. Do your ****ing job and there won't be any problems, except they want to get hurt and give you attitude. I mean come on your not going to be paying my bills and take care of my daughter, so what would you like me to do? Get fired so you can continue to be lazy and get paid.

But congrats though, i don't like doing it but it has to be done

I'm not gonna lie, it really sucked the first time that I had to do it...then I started enjoying it. If someone's stupidity is putting my on the line then I have no remorse and enjoy throwing you to the dogs because you deserve it. I tell all my employees that the only list they don't wanna get on is my $hit list because it's very hard to get off that thing.

so have you been practicing your "you are fired speech"?

i would go with the classic ?How do you feel about taking the rest of the day off? How bout tomorrow? Go ahead and take the rest of the week off. You know what? Just dont come back, you are fired!

Or just make him do the crappiest jobs possible until he quits. Save you company some possible additional unemployment claims expense!

make sure you write him up for it. keep everything documented, and a witness wouldnt hurt in case he refuses to sign the write-up.

I would also make sure you got real proof that it was him, since this is not an issue of work performance. Do you have a written policy regarding this matter?

I never liked to fire someone, but then they were more for reasons like this...

policy!!!! that is the question. if it in in your policy....no , the can his . tell him the decision has been made, you are terminated. say no more. do not let it get personal. this is not personal, he broke the co. policy and it can not and will not be tolerated. nothing more to say. good luck sir, the first one is hard. remember when was the last time he bought groceries for your family. nuff said.

How did he look up on your computer? Don't you lock it down when you're away? How are you going to prove that it was him?

I have had to fire several people in my career. I have never taken pleasure in it but there is some satisfaction that comes from getting rid of a worthless employee and getting someone new. The last person I fired was smoking weed on the job. I don't give a flying **** what you do when you aren't at work. It isn't my business but don't do that while you are getting paid to work. The work that we were doing was dangerous and I couldn't afford to have him or anyone else get hurt or killed.

Incidentally, this guy (grown man) came back to work later in the day and tearfully pleaded for his job back. The answer was still no.

Good luck. Keep it short and sweet.

+1 Never share login accounts. Make sure you lock it down when you're away, and set the screensaver to autolock if you forget.

It's you're own dumb fault if someone else left on your computer/account.
