Brake Light - GSXR 600.

I could have sworn my brake lights used to work fine..
But last night i went and tried to install the Scorpio alarm system with the motion sensor...

Apparently its connection with the brake lights need to be good before it starts working... i think..

anyway - my question is..

Right now - when i hit the brakes... the brake lights dont turn on....
When the bike starts, you see the red light in the back but doesnt go all BRIGHT when i hit the brakes....

Can anyone guide me on what could be the case...
It cant be the bulb right? cuz atleast it turns on - ...

any advice?

it's the bulb...the bulb is dual filament. and the brake side (brighter side) probably popped

this is just an assumption from what you are telling us.

my assumption as well. Your brake bulb has 2 filaments. 1st one lights up and stays on, the second filament turns on when you hit your brake (causing the light to get even brighter). my assumption is filament 1 is dead. Try getting a new bulb and see if it helps.

Edit: Great example of picture

did you spend the extra $25 to get the scorpio factory connector kit. i dont know why people dont get them, lol.

if you find the bulb to be good, next step is check the wiring. the taillight will have a positive wire for the taillight (dim red light) and a second positive for the brakelight (bright red light). they share one ground, the ground wire is probably black, and you should be able to identify the other two from there.

maybe you forgot to connect the wire for the brakelight?

well....you have a LED tail light....which is different than regular bulbs.

you're best bet is to just get a new tail light cuz the brake lights might be fried....

but before that, i'd check the connections and make sure they are not loose. and if you know how....check to make sure you are getting power to the tail light when you grab the brakes. also, try pressing on the rear brake, and see if the brake light comes on. it's now an elimination process.

Check your fuses as well as your connections.
Do you have voltage going to the brake light when you apply the lever?

And are there two seperate fuses for the brake light and the turn signal lights?

becuase my turn signals work ... and ofcourse the light turns on..
it just doesnt go BRIGHT when i hit the brakes (front or back)...

i think you should just take it to Patrick or some other shop to do it for you. when it comes the the electrical stuff to your bike, you don't want to mess it up even worse (which is easy to do if you don't know what your doing)!
