how long does he get to come back for?, they are being pretty harsh with send people back quickly, some are staying back home less than 4 months which is just ridiculous.

Well he says he'll be back in February at HOME for about a month and stationed back in Fort Sill, Oklahoma for about a year then shipped out early 2009. Everything's been good so far so hopefully he doesn't get f'ed

Clayton - mr. Unassailable is also ex military.

I've toyed with the idea of joining after i finish my degree. Be in for 20 years, retire @ 44, and go be a nurse/nursing dept. head and make BIZZANK!!

I am the daughter and ex-wife of USMC. My dad served his time in early 70's (supply), spent some time in country (Vietnam), came home and went to college- now he's a dr.

My ex served 6.5 years in 0261 (Intelligence). He was active during conflict, but worked in an office- walls 3' thick, no windows- Nobody was allowed in the building w/o SCI clearance. But we DID get to live in Hawaii! Totally worth it! He also did a year in Okinawa and a year in Ft Belvoir, VA for training- lot of travel.

Are you joining? Or just inquiring? IMO The Air Force has the best amenities for families. Army next, because Navy has to live on ships, and Marines usually have to share or get the left overs...

USMC- Dept of the Navy------>The Men's Dept!
