Religion thread, just a question.

I see a lot of people talk about religion on this board so I have a question.

Do you believe in and Why? Since I know a lot of people here go to church ect its more the why for you.

Keep in mind, Im not bagging on anyone or saying one way is right or wrong but I know I question faith sometimes and I was wondering if anyone else did as well.

my views WERE that there isn't a higher being and that we are all created equal and we all deserve the same amount of honor and respect. Also that we are human and we do "unchristian" like things not because we're evil or bad, but because it's our nature. We are not perfect nor should we be punished for such things. Lately i've been sort of looking at things from a different perspective and it's been making my life easier and making me overall happier.

I myself am on the fence, I grew up believing because I was told I had to and if I did not I was going to . What kind of loving sends you to for making human mistakes.

Now, I believe in Karma. Live a good life, treat others with respect and know that sht happens, when its your time its your time.

I was taught that you won't go to for your sins (aka human mistakes) as long as you look to for forgiveness. While this is hard to imagine, because in our simple mind, there are different levels of sins, but that is what I was taught. If you don't believe in , that isn't a human mistake, that is lack of faith, and without believing in him, you can't look to him for forgiveness, which means you go to for the sins without forgiveness. I don't want to get too deep into this, I get fired up easily, but you have my take on that.

To me Religion is something of which the feeling is inherent in nature, and something indescribable to a certain extent. You have a logical question. It's like trying to prove that all angles within triangle ABC are 180 degrees. Before you do that, you have to Assume, or beleive ABC is a triangle. If you can't recognize a higher power, or , or a supreme being, there really wouldn't be any need to try and understand why. That's just how I see it. I have friends who are agnostic/atheist who will never try to beleive in something before they understand it. But at the same time they will swear on everything that they beleive in a proton or Zimbabwe, but have never seen one or been to the other. Interesting topic nevertheless..

+1, This is more or less how I view that particular facet of faith. AS far as the topic of discussion and relative questions: Yes I do believe in . The why is something which is not easily put into words as it is hard to articulate such a feeling. A simple way of saying it is given some of the things that I've been through in my life, it'd be hard not to believe and from another perspective- given all of the infinite possibilities of this universe, how is it that all of these circumstances came together to create the perfect order of things we observe today and have been able to observe since the beginnings of written history? I am talking from the smallest atoms interacting with one another to micro-organisms which make up the larger organisms to planetary and cosmic systems. Considering all of this and all of the reasons it, mathematically, should not happen yet did...hard to believe that there would not be some greater influence than what we've been able observe through empirical means...

i'm too lazy to type it all out, but basically i've accepted the possibility that may be in my life walking by my side the whole way. Everything that's happened to me in the past happened for a reason and has made me the person i am today. When bad things happen, they may not be bad at all, just all apart of the plan

I to believe there is a plan, and it is what it is, you cant change it or modify it you just have to live with it and accept it.

I believe b/c he's showed me he exists!! When i was in the position to have my head blasted off, HE saved me..when i woke up this morning with breathe in my lungs, it was HIS doing...when i have a roof over my head, and clothes on my back, i know HE made me able to get that....

I know HE knows my story, i just have to keep living to find the end !
