buy a fox body 5.0 and do an ls1 swap into it (bolts right in with the right k-member). They are cheap/light cars and with a small shot I could almost guarantee 10's

Or just turbo the stock 5.0. They did it in a magazine and with traction work and other stuff went 10.90's? on stock 200k mile bottom end. Although you will break the tranny like that guarateed.

2.DSM ( a mitsubishi or Talon, im looking at a 92tsi talon all wheel drive turbo) sounds like a fun car, ive never been into any other cars but the RX7!!! in other words Rotary engines... but ive seen these cars haul ...and knows i love racing.. so what do u think i should get..let me know
Dude i think you just bumped to the right guy to ask. I own a 91 tsi, 89 gsx, and at one point the corrolla. The dsm's are monsters on the the streets when it comes down to racing, the take off on these cars are insane, plus dont need too much money to spank brand new cars such as dumb Neons srt4. The yota is just a fun lil car to play with on the rain but real hard to find parts, etc. although it can be a powerful car but ill cost you

only reason dsm's are popular is because of the fact that they are cheap to buy and build. thats not always a good thing. you get what you pay for when it comes to cars. you see them going fast at the dragstip all the time but watch them road race. funny thing to watch. 400 whp awd dsm cars get whooped by stock porsche boxers.

would have to disagree, like bikes alot comes down to the driver. Ive seen 250's pass 1000's... so what. Plenty of people road race them and they do very well when they are setup properly.

i would love to see some examples of a good road race dsm. we see them all the time at our PCA (porsche) meetings and at the track days. even drove a track prepped fully gutted race alligned, suspensioned first gen gsx around the track. wanted out of that car asap. that car pulled slower times than a stock boxter with the same driver

cars are 80 percent car in a road race
bikes are 80 percent rider in a road race.

here is one for ya, couple minutes of searching.

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/road...ng-sucess.html

here is a quote from the same guy..."I was beaten by a Mazda RX7 race car, Honda S2000, Porsche GT3, a ZO6 and a BMW, but I beat a ton of Vettes, Mustangs, etc. "

overall, there are a few out there... mostly all the dsm guys have replaced them with evo's. For the money they are a pretty cheap to build a decent track car.

lmao at guy putting ccw wheels worth almost as much as the car. i gota give it to that car. seems like a nice roadrace car. evercar he mentioned he got beat by except the gt3 and zo6 are ok roadrace cars. bragging about beating a mustang on a roadrace is nothing. would not surprise me if most of them were stock as well.

anybody have a picture of a dsm road racer that is also not a trailer queen?

the ae86 is a much better platform for a road racer. have you seen those with rotary swaps in them?
