Ebay changes feedback.

They are making several changes, or suppose to.

WTF!

For those that are sellers the buyer will have the upper hand from the get go. From my experience the selles are honest, but some of my buyers have been difficult to deal with. But over all I have had a good experince on ebay and sell and buy alot. But this will certainly change things.

Feedback Changes
Significant changes coming soon will increase buyer confidence and showcase good sellers.
Buyers will only be able to receive positive Feedback.
Positive repeat customer Feedback will count and Feedback more than 12 months old won't.
Negative and neutral Feedback left by the buyer will be removed for transactions in which a buyer doesn't respond to the Unpaid Item (UPI) or if the member is suspended.

How can you not hold a buyer accountable. But leave the seller open to threats since there is nothing you can do about it.

Yeah.

Reason I sell on ebay is because it is garauteed to be sold in 10 days or less and from the most part I have no trouble with buyers or shipping. I dont like dealing with people either, just set up the auction and they bid and it sales for what is does.

it would be sweet if craigslist had an auction site. But then I guess people would bid and not follow through.

The way I look at is, whats the alternative take it to a shop? they dont pay . Anything I make on ebay is just extra cash, i am not making a living doing it, just getting rid of stuff I dont need.

simply becuase peopel will bid hoping they can afford it at the end of the week when the bills are paid, then they cant so all they did was waste your time. Since they can't be punished for it they will continue to do it.

UNLESS, a non paying bidder is not considered a buyer and therefore this does not apply to them.

You think so? ha, the ebay spin off in Mexico and other latin coun tries, called mercado libre, it is a rip off that makes Ebay looks like pennies on the dollar.

I have 100% positive feed back on ebay. Have bought and sold there for many years, but less than 100 transactions. I have also had buyers who won your auction but could not be contacted. What, if any, resolution has there ever been except to re-list the item? I don't see how this will affect anything.

If the item is paid for - it's positive, if not it's re-listed and the buyer gets a warning from ebay or gets their account closed. I pay closer attention to seller feedback anyway.

you can claim and unpaid item and get your fees back, and leave negative feedback so that you atleast punish the non paying bidder and warn other sellers.

Under this new FB system I understand you can not leave negative. So the non payer can just keep doing it.

I stopped using it a long time ago. Bargains are few and far between. Like Chris said, it's too commercial now. It's a lot of stores.

And the losers caught up in 'winning' a bidding war not realizing they've bid themselves up into retail+ price territory.

Occasional holds on payment
27. Which sellers will have their payments held?
In a small percentage of cases where it has been determined the risk of dissatisfied buyers is higher, PayPal may delay release of the payment funds to the seller until the buyer has left a positive feedback or 21 days have passed without a dispute, claim, chargeback or reversal filed on that transaction.

To determine if a transaction may have a higher risk of dissatisfied buyers, eBay reports to PayPal a number of factors, including but not limited to:

* Seller's % Positive Feedback in the last 30 days
* Seller's Detailed Seller Ratings in the last 30 days
* Final price for the item
* Shipping & handling fee
* Seller's eBay tenure as an eBay member
* Seller's total number of Feedback
