2008 Silver R6

Wanna Ride An 08 R6... Help me out.. Please

Ok so i just moved to texas and need to get my M endorsement down here. I went to the DPS and they wont let me use my bike (2008 Yamaha R6 not S) for the ridden test because i dont have rear turn signals and they dont like the way my oklahoma tag is mounted (legal in oklahoma).... So if there is anyone around the humble area that would go with me just to take the ridden test i will let them ride and hang onto my R6 for collateral.. I know its weird to ask on a forum but i just dont know any one down here yet.. Oh yeah my ridding experience!! I have raced R6's since '99 (off and on when dad had money ) and have been ridding on the street since i was 16 (just turned 20) Any help would be appreciated i dont care if its a ninja 250 Thx Ian

Oh and i would prefer someone who is responsible and has been ridding for awhile because i am very about my bikes

Also i live in atascocita so someone kinda close would be cool to

I would let u use my 250 but it has expired tags. Looks like u have not taken the MSF otherwise they (DPS) wouldnt be asking for the ridden test.

Take the MSF and you dont have to worry about the ridden test.

None :(

maybe you should put on the rear turn signals and fix your plate. you still have that problem even if you get your license. Last thing you probably want is to get your license and get pulled over all the time for your bike not having the proper lights etc.

+1 Actually, I'm thinking of taking the course again with my father in the near future. Maybe I haven't been racing yet but have plenty of seat time both at the track and on the street. + MSF basic would just be fun to take again.

But I feel what he's saying. Go rent a scooter for the test or make your TX legal.

I don't think that will qualify for the TXDPS testing part. The again maybe Racer X can shed some light on this. I've taken the advanced course and had a blast. It's fun man handling a big bike at slow speeds.

I'd retake the MSF over and over. It helped a lot and kind of helps you realize that you don't know it all when it comes to riding, but I'd be willing to help even if you don't want to take the MSF. That is, if you don't mind riding an 06 SV650. I've got between 9,000 and 10,000 miles under my belt and the MSF and my M endorsement. PM me if you want me to help.

EDIT: I took the MSF only once, but would take it over and over again because of all the good info you get from it and the experience... just to clarify my opening statement.

consider yourself lucky then...sv brakes are horrid stock. changing the lines and pads are not bling items.... they actually do have function.
