You're going to find that MANY here will disagree with you and obviously some can't handle constructive criticism very well but just try to see the real meaning behind everyone's advise. Welcome to our community, hope to be seeing you around

I don't agree with it either, but there are certain things that don't require sarcasm. He made a choice (not the best), but a choice nonetheless, since he's here a little direction can't hurt.

18yo and a first bike like that is not a good combo. having said that the guy is obviously thinking about safety so let's encourage him, ninja, not put him down, ok?

welcome noob. take care riding. I remember I have been in a few pretty bad crashes in my muscle powered bicycle when i was 18... so hopefully you will be smarter than i was.

Welcome! Just take your time learning the bike and buy some good gear! It's a lot of bike, but just respect it and you'll be ok. Gear definitely saves lives, but only if you wear it!

It's once your start to gain a little confidence when a problem usually happens... Be careful.

Howdy!
There are some of us that just cruize and keep around the speed limit.
Stop by some meet and greets and make some friends to ride with that give a hoot about each other and you should be fine.
Good luck and be careful!

LOT of bike for a beginner. Just be really, really, really careful. I admit that you get bored with a smaller (250) bike quickly, but it's worth it. It wasn't bad advice to get a 250 just for now, until you get more comfortable.

However- Welcome You're in just the right area to join us on THC rides! We're glad to have you, whatever you're riding! Plus, that will give us a chance to keep our eyes on you!

welcome. but be careful on slick roads, rear tire tends to loose traction.
