suggest "buyer beware" sticky in for sale.

was replying to this thread:

http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=45502

when i was thinking, might be a good idea to have a "buyer beware" sticky in the for sale section. myself or someone else could write up some tips about what to look for when buying a bike, how to do all the paperwork, where to go etc...what do yall think?

i hate to think of new members getting a bike from our for sale section only to end with nightmare bikes, falling apart with no titles, etc. what a way to get off on the wrong foot, with bikes in general and with Mh.

if you show some support for this idea, i can write something up, and ill submit it to chris and see if it can be approved.

sounds good, but when I hear buyer beware what comes to mind is bad experiences that buyers have had from sellers.

If this is not that and more of a tip giving for buying, then the name should be something else.

I think what Chris is talking about is the things to check out before buying a bike, and the paperwork / title info to get from the seller or buyer to prevent any problems.

FWIW, I've always offered this, if anyone on the board is considering buying a bike, they are more than welcome to bring it by the shop and we'll do a visual inspection and test drive, free of charge.

I think that's the basic idea. Gather all of the info of what to look for and what paper work to have.
Maybe even provide links to the DOT website for forms (although they change it fairly often so it may require some upkeep)
Filter through it all, edit it and put it into a coherent single post, and then sticky and close it.

I think Chris24 is working on a draft, and I'll add some stuff as well.

If you guys like, send it to me prior to posting, and I'll be happy to give the final draft a good once over with English geek eyes.
