weird smell?????

Every mourning when i warm my bike up i can smell something burning, a weird smell kinda like plastic but not exactly. I looked and smelled for the source but i cant locate it, any ideas? No smoke or anything

make sure you dont have a tiny radiator fluid leak, like i do out the air release valve, check between your fairings it may be burning off in the mornin, coolant has more of a steam than smoke

if your really concerned, pull the plastics off, and inspect them. you might find some tell-tale signs of melting, or traces or fluid leaking, etc. also while they are off, take a good look at the bike, go over it with a flashlight (even if you think there is enough light without one)

be sure to look over the engine, check all the main gaskets, look for spots on the exhaust, could be coolant, oil or something leaving a few drips over the night, and getting burnt up in the morning. if its really a slow leak, you wont see any spots on the ground, maybe not even on the plastics.

one way to check for leaks is simply to check the levels, if you coolant is crazy low, than there is likely a coolant leak somewhere, same for oil. its got to go somewhere.
