many peeps believe a 600SS bike is too much for a noob rider, just think where a 1k would be. granted you have dirt experience. but dirt and street are ALOT diff.

MSF is a class you take to help teach some street smarts also helps get your M license.

ok. thanks for the heads up. thats sort of why I picked this one instead of an R6 or 848...this one's not as aggressive as those. Its not a SS bike, also has less HP.

Planning on doing the MSF at first opportunity.

I got my M license last week and I will tell you that Texas DPS is the worst. It takes 3 separate trips to DPS office. 2 of the trips, you must stand in line in the cold and rain before the sun even comes up to get at the front of the line. In all, I spent about 4 or 5 hours of my time and an hour of a friends (for the skills test follower), and I think I got off easy.

When I asked the lady about who I need to talk to in goverment to improve the process, she said 'improve?!!!! whats wrong with it????!!!' I had to get out of there asap after hearing that. I also saw the trooper at the info desk grab his club as he was about to beat down a disgruntled person who was not going to get to 'schedule' his skills test that day after standing in line for 3 hours. I got a video of it and will post on youtube soon.

well any 1k bike is not advisable for any noob, but i ASSUMED when you put Duc S1k, it was a 1098

if you had taken the MSF class first, it would have exempted you from having to worry about the riding test at DPS. if you pass, it basically exempts you from it. all you'd have to do is take the written.
