My bike has NEVER touched water. EVER! I clean it EVERY night even if it's ridden or not. Wax and all. The belly pan, all plastics, frame, rims around the spring, etc. EVERY NIGHT! Had it for a year and it still looks brand new!

I used that ICE chit by Turtle Wax this last time home. It's expensive, but it sure made the bike shine with easy application. I doubt it will have a long lasting shine tho because it is a liquid, prolly wash right off in da rain.

When i do a full cleaning I use a high quality automotive shampoo, then do a meguiars 3 stage on it.
