I had the icon mainframe skull helmet (the one with like 6 skulls on the back with little red lines all weaved thru it and bones! I loved the helmet and it held up very well, It was comfortable and not noisey at all! BUT I haven't ever rode with an exspensive helmet like arai, soumy, shoei or anything like that so i cant really compare!

Ive heard that Icon has a tendency of "falling apart" on more than one occasion. Heard it from friends + online review. Whats your take on this?

Check out Shark helmet, I use one they are real big on other parts of the world but, have just recently made it into the U.S market. I use to own an Arai Rx-7 that I paid $800 for but, after a few rides in it I came to find out it wasn't for me, and sold it I since then have used my Shark helmet and it is some comfortable that I would recommend it for its comfort, weight at only 1500grams, and its ease at removing and swapping visors. Here is their website : http://www.shark-helmets.com/

Get a helmet that fits "YOU" try on as many as you can get your hands on. Then after you get that out of the way find a painter to do a custom job for you. That way you have the perfect helmet, for you.

Not sure if you're looking for something like this. they will custom paint any helmet for like $650. When I contacted them a while back, there was a 6 month turn around though.
