Honesty is the best policy. You dont want bad karma. Just track it and buy you a busa for daily riding.

You have insurance thru Gayco ? Because that's what they quoted me for a 600cc. Allstate insured my 1K for $900 full coverage.

I especially didn't want to be viewed as kicking someone when he's down.

Take your time making a decision; there's no need to rush. I have a general rule against going with my first instinct too quickly. You can always come back to it, but a lot of times a better alternative will reveal itself.

Try putting it up on Kawiforums. Might have to ship the bike out of state, but it's a good price, and a very clean bike. Those usually don't last all that long there.

You're making a wise decision not to lie about it. Since you asked what we would do: I would probably sell it and pay the bike off as fast as possible. If you track it you'll be paying a lot for track days (not including race parts for the bike) and spending money elsewhere when you could be paying down your loan. May mean making a few sacrifices, but dragging out the loan means less money is going to be in your pocket over the long run. You can buy a fairly inexpensive used track bike later (it probably costs more to build your own race bike than buy one track ready) and get a new street bike.

Props for taking the high road about this.

I hate paying full coverage on my Triumph considering I put maybe 3K miles on it a year. But knowing how pricey things can get after a simple drop and thinking about doing track days soon...the $500 a yr ain't nothing.

$7 G's Dayyyyumm
It must be pretty screwed........

I'll give ya a grand for it & put it out of its misery.

Seriously though, get a second opinion. I work at a shop that specializes in wreck repair, so I'm not just blowing smoke......it can be done much cheaper

Def man there are cheaper ways, start searching for parts and get it back one piece at a time. Making it a track bike, (i dont know from experience) but Im sure its going to cost alot of money when you can just focus on one bike and focus on knocking out the loan on it.

Im sorry about you financial loss but hey , it ALWAYS coulda been worse.

Technicaly the Bike is not yours, and you have full coverage on your truck. That insurance will cover any vehicle you drive. Even if its not on the policy.
thats how we lease the Exotics to people, they use their own insurance to cover our high end Cars. If they wreck it. their Insurance Has to pay for it.

Plus

Plus ive been giving it lots of thought, and you are by default entitled to file a claim on the full coverage that Covers your truck. Its simple Bro. File your claim. Dont lie, the worst they will tell you is the Bike is a total loss and you end up Having to cover the remainder to the credit card.

When my BMW that i leased out was wreck due to Racing by the guy who leased it , i filed a claim on his insurace, and they Paid it all. My car was not on his policy but because he was driving it, he was liable 100 percent. they paid my loss of rental at 400 a day plus all damages Well You wont get loss of rental but they will pay for the bike. Call me dude

If I still owe $11k on it and my insurance won't cover it, I would save on the parts where I could and put it back on the street.
If you want a track bike, you can buy one for $3-4K that won't hurt if you wipe it out.

You never know, you might end up totaling it out once you back on the street anyway.

Good luck with it.

Lifeflight cost me $1,200 AFTER insurance! The total bill for the flight to the hospital and a 25hr stay was 36K!

So yeah, before you get on a bike, get PLENTY of medical coverage.

State Farm offers $2,500 in medical coverage, AFLAC pays really well (they covered my helycopter ride and then some), etc... get some coverage!

Thats going to be one expensive trake bike. The 11 G's plus all the money to track it out. You might want to get a different hobby cause yours is about to get really expensive. 9K for ins? Mine is only $1400 a year, and Im 26. Granted its no liter bike, but still classified as a SS. $7600 a year to go from 600cc to 1000cc that.

With that said, did you LIE to your lien holder??? I know for sure any financial institution giving a loan for a 11k bike must show proof of FULL COVERAGE insurance....that's assuming the financial institution is not some private lender...ie. daddy, grandpa, a friend, etc.

No offense PoPo, but you made a poor decision prior to taking that bike on the track...in my case, I carry 0 liability on my bike because I own it and I don't ride the street. If I wad it up, I eat the 2500 I paid for it and move on.

+1 to the medical insurance....riding a bike with no medical insurance is just STOOPID!!!!!!!

Sorry if I offended anyone, I'm just keeping it real
