Radiator Guard Write Up

For those wanting a little bit of protection on their radiators, and some peace of mind as well........

All right here's what ya do, its really not that hard and costs $1.50 plus tax, zipties, and takes about 20 min or so.
You can probably make 2-3 out of the sheet of gutter guard that you buy.
So give the excess to a friend or do whatever you please with it

1. Go to home depot and buy some gutter guard
2ro0z85

2. Measure radiator

3. Cut gaurd down to size. Hardest part depending on tools available

14waedg

4. Fit the cut piece to the radiator and try to mold the shape of the radiator the best you can with the gaurd

5. Insert zipties through the holes on the perimeter of the radiator and clip the excess on the zipties

Done

Great mod. I don't know why they can't do this (a guard) at the factory, though?

but dont you want the gaurd a inch or so in front of it so when it gets hit, it still have enough room to give a little.....it looks like if something big enough hits hit then its goin to bend the gaurd and radiator at the same time or the bend the guard right into the radiator?

Should be fine. The metal will absorb a hit and make the collision a blunt hit vs a sharp penetration, expanding the surface area of the blow and minimizing the direct force. And if the object really is THAT big, I hope you could get out of the way
