1st Welcome.
2nd I like Yamaha too. They make great musical instruments.
3rd The Triumph Street Triple would make a great first street bike.

I say that because you have offroad experience. Otherwise 250 all the way.

If you've had extensive experience with dirt-bikes, you should be able to handle a 600.

Flame me but if you have dirtbikes down then you could start with a 600. Take the MSF, wear proper gear and respect the bike.

Yamaha R6 Is Nice, Kawasaki Zx6r ( I dont know anything about), Honda CBR600RR are all bikes ive seen and liked.. Cant think of anymore 600s atm

Get out there and sit on lots of bikes to see what feels best/ most comfortable. Most of the guys on here are going to tell you to get what they are riding- Just be careful and ride on your level.

Lots of guys on here from The Woodlands! Take MSF at Awesome Cycles! It's the best class out there!
