you can have them as long as you can not see the source of the light (i.e. the actualy LED) and if the are red or blue they cant be in front of headlight or taillight AND cant flash...otherwise should be good BUT BUT BUT it ALL depends on the cop also (same applies to cars)

^^^^ about what I've heard; yet any auxillary lighting is not legal.

I never had problems, I don't show my leds, only glow. Ive had cops look it over good on the sidewalks but never gave me problems. I explain it helps me be seen that much more.

Mine are red so really not visible unless at night; and its not a strong glow either
