no it was really easy. the pods use double sided stick tape and u can pretty much install them anywhere u want. i didnt have to cut anything i ran the switch under the rear seat and all the wires are except in on spot.

You may find yourself wanting to use velcro instead of the tape because whenever those fairings get taken off....Guess what happens.....
