anyone else have Boxers????

Well my 21 month old boxer just had a tumor removed from his side....But no worries, the little guy made it through with flying colors....i got the pics over on myspace. From what i hear from other people with boxers, and the research i did, they say tumors are very common with boxers? I just wanted to see if anyone on MotoHouston had a boxer and if so have you had any problems with tumors?

i am sorry about it... your doggie's eyes look so sad... i hope he makes a healthy recovery... As for the tumors: well I have heard that about other purebreeds (e.g. goldens). What seems to happen is that maintaining the "purity" of the bloodline weakens the DNA. That's why i adopted a mix from the shelter he he... j/k

Awwww....too sad. Hope he heals up proper like. My boxer has never had any problems with tumors or any health issues for that matter. Guess I got lucky ... especially considering that he's a white boxer

he's huge. A guy down the street who used to breed boxers said he'd never seen one as big as my "Rocky". I'll post a pic up of him later....but he's about 110 - 120lbs. I don't remember his height...but when he stands up to hug me, his paws come to my shoulders and we're standing nose to nose (I'm 5'4)

how cute...he's a little guy...give him time, he'll start filling out. Rocky couldn't keep weight on until he turned 3...now he's got some fat on him, but mostly muscle.
