How long have you been there? My unit is replacing 1BCT 82nd. I'm 4BCT 4ID out of ft hood. This will be my second 1yr deployment. First time I was at Camp Liberty in Western Baghdad. Take care out there.

Hey there welcome Happy! Thank you for serving out country!

You're making a good plan there just make sure you stick with it. I Guess you're going to be coming back to Fort Bragg right? When are you returning. My son is with the 3rd BCT and is at Fort Bragg right now. He is going to be taking MSF and they are suppose to be giving it right there on Post at no cost. He's got his bike there on post now but is waiting for MSF and weather before he starts riding it again.

you can take the MSF off post and then take your reciept to the one on post and they will refund your money because the ones on post are usually backed up for a couple months.

Good Plan, looks like you've been reading the board and listening...

Be safe over there and thanks for being a soldier!

Welcome here, I have a few friends in the Army. One is currently deployed in Afghanistan.

When looking for a used bike make sure you take someone with you that knows something about bikes. I've seen guys trying to sell bikes with bent subframes and whatnot. If you are looking for a used 250, I'd recommend anything under 10,000 miles and don't pay for than $ 1800 for it; depending on cosmetic damage and mileage.

Come home safe!

I'm coming home to Katy, TX. I'll be taking the MSF locally.

Eventually my goal is to upgrade to a cbr600rr or similar and become a track junkie. I've only rode a bike once, it was a buddies katana and it was just in a parking lot. So I am definitely not going to go crazy at first, nor on the streets, I figured if I survived a year of being shot at I don't want to eat it on the streets of Houston doing something dumb.

Anyway if anyone has any links to info on what to look for when buying a used bike that would be awesome. I look forward to posting here and getting into the scene and on to the track.

Welcome!

Keep your eyes up and your head down, see you when you get home. Hooah!
