She's not the best at everything, but she's good at everything.....IMHO. Mine will never see the dragstrip though................(I should probably not be saying never)

No skimping on the gear. Pay as much as you possibly can for the best stuff. IMHO this is an area many newbie's to riding don't budget in. Its always secondary. And mesh jackets don't count as 'good stuff', they shred too.
good thing is i work at cycle gear

i guess no one told ya...

gs500's are the bomb.

oh and for $3k, you could also get a SRAD. (96-99 suzuki gsxr) but i wouldnt advise it for you.

for you i would advise...take the msf course THEN decide.

think about the GS500 though. your freinds might not think its a good idea. but they might think its a good idea to split lanes, doing 150mph, with little to no safety gear.

04 and up gs500s look a zillion times faster than the older ones.

right???? Does sound too good but like I said you never know.

I started with little to no experience on a ZX6-R formerly known as a ZZR600. Before I hit the streets I took the MSF and immediately felt confident riding on the street. Before I took the MSF I took the bike round the neighborhood a few times, stalled it a few times After the first day of MSF I took my bike to a lot across the street and practiced manuevers and stopping and that kind of stuff. A 600 starter worked out well for me but everyones different

i bought my 600 brand new with no experience at all. not even on a dirt bike. left the dealership and rode it home. rode it for another four months before taking the MSF and getting my license. thats how i roll.

If anything Dirt, take the MSF. It will teach you more than how to ride, but also how to think while riding and so on.
