Best brand of battery? Battery tender?

Need a new battery for my 00 gsxr600. Which brands should i look for?

Also, im interested in getting a battery tender for when i go out of town, i can come home and jump straight on the bike (after checking tires.....)
I would really like to be able to take my tender with me where i go because my bike lives in two different places at times.

If i got the battery tender Jr:
First: good enough for what i want to do?
second: can i just take the transformer box (wall plug box) and throw it in my trunk then plug it in later? (ie. is is easily portable)

have have the cheaper small battery tender. works great on all my bikes. install the plug permanently to the battery and all you have to do is plug your bike in.

hmmm, well i have an 04 motor in the 00 frame and space under the seat is REALLY REALLY tight. maybe i should look into a low profile battery.

Who carries a good selection of batteries on the south side of town (pearland is best but i commute to UofH 2 days a week

does a battery from walmart make it the cheapest battery???

That being said, i asked for a good brand of battery. If people are having success with walmart batteries, why spend more money than is necessary.

besides, tuition was $4400 this semester, lets see you work your way through school and still buy the top dollar battery when the cheaper stuff works just as well. just my 2 cents

p.s. im not bi*chin

about 5 years ago the YUSA rep wrote in Road Racing World that they made almost all the off brand motorcycle batteries sold in the U.S. This included interstate I don't know if this is still the case.

my vote goes to Yuasa. And Cyclegear has the best selection of batteries. bring the bike and tools to be able to compare batteries side-by-side. The store closest to you is at 45 & edgebrook. exit edgebrook and u-turn, it will be just before conn's. G/L.

i believe cycle gear sells one brand of battery with a lifetime warranty...if that's the case...i'd check into them. I think they cost less than the Yuasa ones too.

You might want to double check that though, for some reason i can't open up their website.
