i feel bad b/c no one deserves to die unexpectedly BUT I'm not shedding any tears just because he thought he was in 2Fast 2Furious and more importantly he didn't even have a helmet on. :/:

Troopers identify motorcyclist in bridge crash
source: http://www.heraldtribune.com/article...59156/-1/RSS01

STAFF REPORT

SARASOTA COUNTY — A Punta Gorda motorcyclist was killed Sunday after he apparently tried to beat the drawbridge to Manasota Key and collided with control gates that were down to stop traffic.

Witnesses said David Pedroso, wearing swim trunks and sneakers, was speeding west on Manasota Beach Road about 11:15 a.m. They said he ignored the flashing red lights and tried to get around the barriers when his head hit the gate, throwing him from the Suzuki motorcycle.

Pedroso, 37, was not wearing a helmet and did not have a passenger.

The Manasota Beach Road traffic signal at the bridge was red at the time, the gate arms were fully down and the drawbridge had begun to raise, witnesses said.

Pedroso landed on the pavement on the east side of the span, and the motorcycle continued to the bridge’s west side, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

“Unfortunately, he was pronounced deceased at the scene,” said FHP Sgt. Conner Cardwell.

Crash investigators have not determined how fast Pedroso was traveling at the time of the crash. The force of the collision damaged the control arm, Cardwell said.

The bridge was temporarily closed to allow troopers to investigate the accident.

Swimming trunks....hmmmmmmm, that's one way to get rid of a bike you can't pay for.
