Amputee Sprinter - Oscar Pistorius

wow you really have to admire someone with such strong will and dedication. I can only imagine if I lost my legs, so many things Iím passionate about i wouldn't be able to do. This man found a way and continues to do what he loves best! Oscar was hoping to be apart of the next Olympics, but unfortunately was denied because he has an advantage over other sprinters. Take a look at the video...

We have been talking about this on the amputee forum i am on, and i have also discussed this with some fellow amputees in Houston.

So say he has an advantage, some say he doesnt.

I say he does. It may sound funny but he probably had to work real hard to be able to run like that again, he spends twice as much energy as a regular human being doing that.... with that he has a disadvantage, but he has adjusted to this and now can run his off.... with legs that weigh about 1/5 as much as regular legs and they are more "springy" therefore, less stride, less energy spent.

so i guess it could go either way, but i do see it as a advantage
