Late payments, collection attempts, how much $ you have tied up in credit debt, how many various debts you have out. How much credit you have that's current vs late... it's a rat nest.

Personally...I think they flip a coin.

Gotta have a truck. Got horses and cows. I own a Z71 now and it gets 16mpg on its best day. A cummins diesel can be made to get 20-22mpg easily. That isn't taking into consideration pulling something. The Z only gets like 10mpg with about 4k # behind it. The diesel will get 14-16 with a good load. Not to mention, the wear and tear is MUCH greater on a gas motor.

And yes, there are tons of horror stories about buddies who get this and get that. Mine is from personal experience, not what my buddy told me. On a diesel it is all about how you drive. My '96 crew cab F-350 dually got 16mpg no matter how I drove it. When I drive my dad's 4x4 Cummins I get 19mpg with no load, and it is bone stock with no mods at all.

Diesel trucks still tend to get better MPG than the similar sized (i.e. full sized) gasoline counterparts so the price is negligible.

As far as my diesel goes, I still pay less total than probably >90% of gasoline cars on the road. I don't mind that the fuel is more b/c my mpg is WAY more.

Most of it is based on your credit to dept ratio than anything else. S_M_J82 is right. I have excellent credit simple because I make a lot and the wife works also.
My dept range would be very high if I were in the national average and my credit would only be good to average.

...I've just always found it interesting. That those that often need the the break the most are the ones that can't get em, and the ones that don't, get the best prices/rates etc.

yup, the flip side is tha those w/ good/great credit have earned it. other's haven't.

i mean would you want a low return on a high risk loan? or low return on low risk..

Heh, I think that's too simplistic of a view.

You know it's easier to get more credit, with bad credit than no credit or 'low' credit? :-)
