Yep. Gotta get past the psycho barrier of thinking the bike is going to slide out. I'm sure even the ol' Bridge'Stones' 014s can lean much more than I think. Next time I'm going to try some Pilot Race too for a little more confidence. Of course work on the body position as you mention and get more aggressive each time thru the turns. I'm also going to move to Level 3 next time because I found myself having to pass way too often, and many times blowing a good lap time. I want to get my 2:11 down to sub 2:00!!!
Level 3 is the Ty Howard class which is extra to do.* After level 2 comes level 4.* I think gettin stuck behind someone is not neccessarily a bad thing cuz it helps you improve your passing skills and forces you to change your lines making you a bit more flexible.* My advice is to go to level 4 once you get down to about the 2:05s 2:06s.* *This may sound silly but this last time at TWS (Texas World Speedway) me and Carlos(UFO) accidentally got in Level 1 session for about 2 or 3 laps till we figured out we were in the wrong group and we ran 2:05s!* * That was getting through traffic and all.* So I don't think you should have a problem in level 2.* Just my $.02.* *right:

on and BTW there are guys out there who run sub 2:00s on BT-014s. Ask patrick

also, from the pics i saw i dont know how you got to 2:11's? the bike wasnt even leaned over that much and you werent even hugging the line on the horse shoe.

not saying you didnt run 2:11, though. just looks like my buddy J14 and hes not anywhere near low 2:00's.

My 2:11 was followed by a 2:12 on the next lap with about four 2:14 and multiple 2:16s. Timer said my avg was 2:16 at the end of the day. So perhaps you can't judge lap times very well by looking a pictures...

my one time out at TWS (Texas World Speedway) tell me that it has enough fast and easy turns to do 2.05-2.10 even without being able to get knee down at all or being able to do a few tough turns well enough(2,11,13-14, acc to me, though i was messy in 3,6,8 too:-)).. even 2.00 types without even scratching the knee protector i think..

uh and manytimes the pics r not taken at the max leans that ppl did..

If you get your lines right at TWS (Texas World Speedway) you only really drag knee in a few corners. The rest of the time you may touch it while apexing. I think Giani explained this in another post once pretty well.

actually i'd say liter bikes can make up perhaps 2-3 seconds, and that's only if the rider is any good, cuz if you can't get a good drive out of the turn that 1000 isnt gonna help you for . Look at Danny Eslick, when he was at TWS (Texas World Speedway) he was right on Ty Howard's and he was on a 600 and Ty wasn't. So I don't think you can use the litre bike issue as an excuse.

Lap record is on a 750... Ty set it. 1:44.7 I believe...

Only have to drop 20 more seconds to get there.

yeah I don't remember where I talked about it but dragging knee slows you down. *I hardly do it anymore. *I only use it if I go too hot into a turn or want to see how low I am. *I could drag knee in EVERY single corner if I wanted to but there's really no need at all. *

Good to know I can hit a 2:11 with such "sloppy form". Should be pretty easy to trim off 12 sec and get that sub 2:00 with some more seat time and body position work like Capafool mentioned. After all, that was only my second track day.. I'll probably go ahead and use some Pilot Race next time instead of the Bridge'Stones'.

Well I would say you are doing real well and as long as you are having fun out there and continue to put in time at the track the seconds will fly off. If that is what you want. A 2:11 is not bad at all.

I know I have a long way to go to get a lean like Capafool, but this lean will get you a 2:11.

RideSmart has booked another TWS (Texas World Speedway) track day for Dec 10!!! I'll be there shooting for my 1:59 on Power Race and a gangsta lean!
