Sorry to hear about your friend, RIP.

When I was 18, a friend of mine hung himself in the backyard. You'll never understand and always wonder if there something that could've been done...

This is a serious subject for a lot of people. Everyone probably knows someone who has thought about suicide.

You have to open your eyes to see the signs and recognize when people start to change. Dont be afraid to talk about it. If you confront them with it, they might realize that someone really does care about them.

suicide is a serious matter. however one of the things i leared recently was that friends that have a habbit of "joking" abotu committing suicide may actually be thinking seriously about it. sometime ago i watched a move "the bridge" about suicide - it left pretty powerful impression on me

Thank you all for your concern and support. Unfortunately this isn't the first friend of mine that turned to suicide. Please tell your friends and family you love them everyday. When they need someone to talk to, listen, don't judge. You can learn so much from other peoples experiences so you're not just helping them, you're helping yourself understand something you may not have otherwise.

Had a friend when I was in High School hang himself in his garage. None of us could not figure out why he did it. It was sad at the funeral because the parents were asking us like we knew something and all we could do was shrug our shoulders because we had no answers. I really felt sorry for them, still makes me well up thinking about it. Sometimes there are underlying issues that are not know to the rest of us.

Sorry about your friend. My condolensces to you and his family as well.
