excersize.......it will help.

when you want a smoke, knock out some push ups.

Start jogging, your lungs will hurt so bad you dont want to smoke!

Nicotine is an addictive substance, which means your body gets used to nicotine and comes to need a certain level to function normally each day. Any less than this dose and you start to feel snappy and on edge.

Nicotine is one of the most dependency-inducing drugs. Even the good feelings you attribute to smoking, ie improved concentration, are really due to relief of the withdrawal effects that come on between cigarettes.

All the gums and patches and t like that only pospone the problem IMHO.

I smoked for 8 years (18 - 26).

I know a lot of people that quit smiking and all of them, including myself, think the best way to quit is to just go COLD TURKEY.

I'm not gonna lie.....

IT GOING TO SUCK FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS!!!!

But after that its easy.

Few Tips:
1. Don't drink alcohol.
2. Don't go out. for those first 2 weeks.
3. Smoke you last cigarette on Thursday.
4. Spend the entire weekend at home and just deal with the ittiness.
5. Keep yourself Occupied with soothing activities. Read a book. Watch TV. Play Video Games.

All it takes is WILL POWER. You can do it!

My girl and I quit on Cinco de Mayo of 2007 and haven't had one since. It was rough at first but after that it is smooth sailing.

My suggestions...One, stay away from bars. Two, hang out with people that don't smoke so you won't smokes. Three, exercise. We just ran the Chevron 5K downtown and I couldn't image running that if we still smoked.

Most of all...WILL POWER. Having somone to keep you in check helps out tremedously too.

I've never been a smoker ... but I've heard that a lot of it is an oral fixation ... and that it helps if you have something that you can keep i your mouth and chew on to take the place of it ... examples: someone said sunflower seeds, ive also heard a pen casing, a straw, a tooth pick, stuff like that.
