Is this a good bike?

How's it goin.

I've been lookin into gettin a first bike.* Other than riding dirtbikes when I was a kid I've never been on a crotch rocket.* I don't want anything larger than a 600 or in that area.* So far the bike I've liked best was the honda 600rr.* Is this a decent bike for the money?* Does it have a bad reputation, or are there bikes better for less money?* Overall I'm looking for durability and reliability, style, comfort, and speed.* Probably in that order.* Any help is appreciated on your opinions on whether the honda is good for me.

Thanks,
Matt.

Re: What's a good first bike?

Pretty much all 600's perform almost the same. It's more about personal preference and styling. The 600rr has a hard seat. Have you tried sitting on different sport bikes? Many will tell you to get something small like a 250 but I say you get whatever the you want. Have you taken the MSF?

Re: Is this a good bike?

if you road a dirt bike as a kid then you got some sight into how riding will be i feel you shouldnt have no trouble with a 600 if you take it slow

Re: Is this a good bike?

honda is a good bike, its mainly all about preference. getting a 600cc bike is no big deal IMO as long as youre careful and you know what youre getting yourself into. ride safe man.

600 RR as my first sport bike. Dropped it in the first month. Becarefull the bigger the bike the less forgiving it is when you f up.

Uh, well the 600RR is a lovely machine... but, save yourself the trouble of it up by getting something a little older and with less horse power.

Re: Is this a good bike?

Meh I think I'm going to end up going with a suzuki sv600s instead. Seemed more reasonable after I got over wanting to own the fastest bike in the world. I just always try to buy things on a whim, but the suzuki is a lil more of an all around bike, something I couldn't really find in sporty form from honda.

Re: Is this a good bike?

sv would be a good choice since its a v twin it will give you a little more forgiveness and the power band is more predictable than that of a SS 600cc bike. It might not be as fast as the SS 600 class, but im sure its just as fun, I loved my V twin. Go with the sv650 right:.

remember its not the bike its the rider.
