2up?

So I'm still a newb to riding and recently rode 2up for the first time. How long did you ride before you felt comfortable riding 2up? Any tips for riding 2up? I felt ok, they slower turns were a bit shakey. I have had my best friend on, my sister n law and my husband....

I think the list will stop there. I'm not crazy about having people on the back. Now I'm thinking about getting a rear seat cowl so no one will ask.

i would recommend against having a heaver person then the main rider, riding ""

there is no time limit or miles, but if your not comfy on the bike, consider your taking their life into your hands.

I have no interest in risking anyone's life other than mine on our steeds. When and if I ever get a cruiser, then I'll consider it. Otherwise, 1up always. Just my .02

It's a good point. I get so frustrated with a few friends of mine who will just jump on the back on anyone's bike, not even really knowing the person or their riding exp. Yesterday I had one ask me if this guy she just met, could take her for a ride on my bike!

2 up is no big deal as long as the passenger knows the rules for riding ..
http://www.chuckhawks.com/motorcycle_passenger_tips.htm

also remember the suspension is softer because of the added weight... so the bike will feel "off" unless you add preload to compensate.

the first time i had someone on the back of my bike was no biggie......i was already used to carrying extra weight...... going to class and wearing my heavy back pack.......... my first passenger was an x of mine, she weighed about 105 pounds, lol......... so it was no big deal....... my next girl weighed about 160, lol...............i felt that................

I rode 2 up only like 4 times to girls begging for a ride. I just putted around the neighborhood, not too much of a thrill. It's prolly wrong as I only have 1200 miles on a sport bike though. And ya, slow slow, a little shaky turns is the worst part.

well,,,,,,,,,,,,when you have someone ride in the back........the bike tends to drop a couple of inches......so you should touch the ground easier

Best advise, get a bike designed for extra weight and 2 up riding.
I hate giving my daught a ride on the Gixxer but she likes riding on the bike.
I plan on buying a Bandit this summer so she can ride. It is set up to hold bags and 2 up.

It makes a big diff if the person riding "" knows what there supposed to do. Ive had ppl that never rode on the back before and ppl and rode alot on the back. The diff is night and day. Also tell them the rules as stated above!

1up is way more fun. Feel like im baby sitting with one on the back!

if i go out, I ride with the nice big busa cowl. if they wanna ride they have to fit in the seat with me. You'd be surprised... many are all for it...

I've ridden for years with passengers but I ride alot different with someone on the back, as stated, more babysitting and worried about their life over my own or the ride itself. When im comfortable with that person and have ridden a few times with them, then we get looser...

I've put guys on the back before, the heavier they are the harder it is. Have them put their hands on the tank because it makes them lean closer to you which in turns makes it easier to balance.
