Used to live in Alvin for 2 years. But we moved to Friendswood a few months ago. Lot of nice roads to ride on in the country in Alvin.

Friendswood here but I lived in Alvin for a year. Agreed - lots of nice country roads around Alvin - particularly west of town but good ones of HW 6 and 517 east also.

i slid pretty far in the wet grass with a dislocated shoulder. Got up, reset the shoulder in about a second, picked up the bike, and tried to start it. Wouldn't start, so I took out the flash light to find the muffler filled with mud. I found a stick and pryed out the mud. The bike fired right up. Rode it to some lot on hwy 6 and 35 to look at it. The only thing I had to replace was the swingarm which was tweaked. All the plastic was practically fine surprisingly. I rode all the way home, got on ebay, and less than $100 later the bike looked fine for the next couple of years until I wrecked it really hard (which it's been rebuilt as a track bike (but hasn't seen track) since).

moral was to pay attention. It was dark, and I was riding the brights, but right as I entered the corner I saw a car approaching, so I tried to turn off the brights and i tapped the grass which caused the lowside into the ditch.

there are some nice country roads there. close to the Frobergs store. I used to own a store on second and sealy. lots of riders there. and the leo is not that bad (most ride). i did the blue santa run there two years in a row. there are also some good bike store/repair places there as well.
