Anyone else on a diet beside me?

Anyone else on a diet beside me?
What are you doing to lose weight and diet?
How many lbs do you want to lose?
Have you ever lost lots of weight before?
How many meals are you eating?
What is your calorie count per day?
What do you do when you need a snack?
Do you excercise?

I was just wondering, i am going to lose 50 lbs, i have done it before without any exercising, i'm eating 5 meals a day, 1000 calorie per day, i snack on rice cakes, sugar free jello, or sugar free icy pops, and i play a game of basketball for my exercise per day. I currently weight 185lbs. My goal is i want a 6-pack.

If anyone has any meal tips etc, please share

thanks

you can always work hard on ab machines to strenthen your abs... then the muscles will show through the thin layer of fat and give you the six pack.

I think you have too much of a caloric deficit. Try eating a few hundred more calories. Eating too little will send your body into "starvation mode" especially since you are burning up a bunch of cals playing basketball.

i'm not "dieting" as much as eating healthier and smaller portions
looking to lose 15lbs
not counting calories, but i've been eating more times a day. I used to eat twice a day, once at about 1 or 2 in the afternoon and once again at like 8 or 9 at night, but now i'm eating breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner before 8. I've been playing basketball, softball, dancing. Been doing belly dancing around the house to help tone my stomach. Stretches, lunges, crunches, push ups

people if yall have better ideas to lose the weight i'm all open to ideas. i never said it was a heathly way, but i dont see how, if i cut out all the junk food, no bread, no carbs, no cokes or coffe & very little sugar. Mostly protein & vegs. I eat 5 meals per day, i'm full when i eat, i'm not starving myself.

your bodyweight (185)X12=2220, if you eat too far below that your body will still be in starvation mode. Try eating a little more, and when you snack, try eating soemthing with more nutritional value, like chicken or half a sandwich. Get your nutrition and macros from everything you eat.

ya to get a six pack you need to burn the fat on your gut, which is pretty hard.
Swimming is THE best way. But any cardio will do.

Do not eat less when trying to build up your core muscles, eat more. Good protein, beans, FISH, chicken, even peanuts.

I love protein shakes, through some 1%, or skim milk in them, sometime ill put some ice cream in there.

I also took NOX and Creatine, but I highly recommend you don't. Do it the right way.

And as for muti-vitiams, To me they're useless. Your body can't absorb all that at once.

Edit: oh and no empty calories, if your gonna eat, don't eat those rice things.
If you need a stack, fruits, veggies are the way to go.

Cut mostly every thing that is processed, no fast food, etc.

this may be true and is good info, but it worked before, i lost 45lbs in four months time, my metabolism was fine if what you say is true then how did i lose all the fat and no muscle. yes i do it rice cakes, but they are snacks, thats it, instead of grabbing a snickers bar, i grab a rice cake or carrot sticks what the harm in that

well im sure you're eating, but with 1000 cals a day and snacking on icy pops it can't be that much. I dont see exactly what you eat so i cant critique it too much, but since you do need more calories you might as well replace the popcicle and rice cakes with something of more substance.
You're not going to gain weight or hinder your weight loss from it. Also I agree with poopstinksalot, if you do lose the weight, you will be skinny fat, and you want those hot six pack abs! so eat eat some food! just try to eat as clean as you can, you don't have to cut carbs that much. you could even split your intake to 40% protein 40% carbs and 20% fat and you'll still be fine.

I have been dieting for a while now and I have lost 25# yea, but now that I've gotten about 10-15 pounds away from my target weight I am haveing a bit more difficulty. All i did was lighten my plate, smaller portions without starving. A good friend told me one time that if you want to lose weight you have to stop eating as soon as you start feeling full and it worked. Resteraunt portions are usually not very realistic and eating out will pack on the pounds. I went from 155# to 130# and I would like to be 120# to 115#. I know this sounds tiny, but i am 4'9" so the slightest weight gain can be seen immediately.
