Puppies

Ok, well I just moved from Cypress to La Grange. In Cypress I lived on the golf course, fenced in back yard and everything. The fences there are 4-5ft tall. My dogs never got out once. Yes I know they probably would have no problem jumping out if they wanted, but they never realized it. Well, we move two weeks ago. I have a black lab (3yr old) and a golden retriever (2yr old). They were indoor dogs before we leased that house, but were not allowed in this one. Our new house is on a 45 acre horse ranch, and the dogs are allowed in the house now. Well we realized that the on my golden are big. No real bags, but they are very large. She is obviously pregnant. No idea how long, because we have no idea when she was exposed to another dog. Only thing I can think of is one jumped the fence.

Well we have been living in our new house for 2 weeks now, and guess what? Got a call this morning from my wife. We are up to 5 puppies already. WTF? My lab blew up like a balloon when she had hers. The golden you can't even tell she is pregnant. That . haha. Anyways, the puppies look to be black with brown noses and feet. Sounds like rottweiler or doberman to me. Oh well, our family just grew. I have three spoken for already. I just think it is crazy, I never saw any dogs with these kinds of markings in the neighborhood. :/:

fwiw.....some dogs go through false pregnancy, they can even start milking.'

I thought mine might have gotten knocked up, had swollen teats etc, an ultrasound confirmed that she was not...

If both are knocked good luck on finding homes

haha, nah, my black lab isn't. Thats what I was hoping happened. The golden showed big , but her bags weren't big and she didn't get any bigger in the body. So I figured she was just showing symptoms. Guess I was way off on that one.

My lab had 10 puppies I had to find homes for a year ago, so hopefully there aren't many more on this one.

Ok i guess i'm not responsible. Both dogs were bought as full blooded dogs with papers in the intention of breeding. Guess I should spay them for responsible breeding right? Or does me wanting to have them for breeding purposes mean I have to keep them in a kennel to make sure OTHER irresponsible owner's dogs don't get in my yard?

Sorry, not spaying, they aren't for a reason.

The spay comment was sarcasm. Hotcknstrips says all responsible owners spay. So I was saying that cuz his comment would imply people that keep them for breeding purposes are irresponsible people.

I have not bred them intentionally before. The golden was an accident, and I have a yellow lab lined up for my black lab as soon as she comes into heat.

Yea they are really cute. The looks of a Rotty and a personality of this golden should turn out awesome. Wish I knew the pappa. Oh well. The yard issue is one of the biggest reasons I moved to the country.
