New Goodies!!

I can't stop grinning!!

I got my new sprocket and air filter from AF1 today!!!

When I got my new motor I asked to go down one on the front sprocket. It's just track bike habit to do that. Big mistake on my part, the bike was geared too low. I ordered the stock size sprocket and an after market air filter.

OH MAN!!!! That air filter rocks! Remember, I went UP one on the front sprocket. With the after market air filter the front end lifts easier now than it did with the smaller front sprocket.

I'll be getting new rubber put on at the track too!!! FUN TIMES SATURDAY!!!

That is all. I'm just so happy right now I had to share the news.

Mike

Oh, on top of all that I took tomorrow off to play with the dirt bike finally.

If not the world then no doubt the best in the country.

Zona, what on gods green earth are you doing to your bike?!

OH!! Hey, did you lighten the flywheel yet? I posted an pretty good picture instruction on it over on the Aprilia forum. Talk about a great free performance enhancement! It takes about 2 lbs off the flywheel!! You need 6 nuts from home depot and some locktight and you are good to go.

here is a link to my posts:

http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/s...lywheel&page=9

if you want a hand with it, let me know.

Nothing fancy at all actually. Had a low side this past sunday...ran into some mud mid-corner and I flew into the guard rail

My pipes got dented, kickstand twisted and right side fairing scratched up. So I'm thinking about painting the bike all black and getting some decals from CKRUZEL. I already got some replacement pipes and a kickstand. In a few months I'll start modding somemore, but the flywheel I can do now.

time for some AKRA slip ons, sharkskinz, and call it a track bike!!

Might as well, once you go to the track you'll order the skinz anyway 'cause you'll be addicted. And you generally don't find mud mid-corner on the track

Seriously though, bummer about the crash. I assume you are ok. Chris makes some awesome decals, you'll be happy with them.

Just bruises and a srewed up knee. Actually, I was sooo that I now plan on getting to the track full-time as soon as possible (which really isn't as soon as I would like).

I had it for sale for a while and then AF1 and I made a deal, I dropped it off and went home with the SXV. Night and day going from an 04 Factory to an 07 SXV. I wanted a change of pace and the motard was just the ticket.

Does your 550 spank Larry's 450 on the straights?

Oh man. Well, stock for stock yes. Last track day he had boughT some goodies for his as well as raised his gearing. I had been a dumb $hit and lowered my gearing. IF I was ahead of him after a turn (cause he let me) he generally passed me as I hit the rev limiter. Now that I have higher than stock gearing by -2 in the rear plus my new air filter I should be able to out run him on the straights no problem. It still won't be enough to beat him though, he is a better rider, weighs 20-30 lbs less, and lives at the track so... I won't give up though!

450 vs 550

The AF1 demo sxv 450 with intake and exhaust matched the stock 550 for peak HP on the same dyno.

GET HOME AND GET YOUR BIKE ALREADY!!!

And yes, it does! Wait till you get addicted to the track and you'll understand better. Not to mention the stuff I mentioned to Mr. Whoopie about me getting passed cause I hit my rev limiter . Grr.... Saturday will be different. I'll get passed because I'm slow

Give me a different reason to be excited!
