Gas Tank Lock Stuck/Sticking

I have this white looking like caked on stuff under the flip tab on my gas tank lock, and i was wondering what you guys suggest to fix this problem.

That's corrosion I keep wd-40 on mine and have no problems. Clean it with a softer type wire brush and blow it out with an air nozzle.

comes in through the lock w/ water ingress. I had that problem when I realized that the tank lip was over sprayed. I wasn't happy.

As meantioned above, or to prevent further ingress try a thin amount of dialectic grease or non-damaging grease in the key hole, pack w the key to limit further penetration from water.

In fact, I need to do that to the busa....

As already posted, it's from moisture / condensation.

I've got some silicone waterproof grease at the shop.
Next time you're by we'll put some in it for you.

what is the name of this said grease... Ambs bike does the same thing sometimes. I just tell her to be gentle on it so the key doesnt break off in there.

^^ i was having the same prob, patrick and the gang put some grease in it and then some type of cleaner and its better then it was, i think ill have to go buy me some more and let this stuff dry out or wear out a little more then give it another round . or maybe its better now? i duuno i havnt checked

just spray it with wd-40, had same problem on zzr, it came right off
