Title Registration

Hey when purchasing a bike from another owner, I have to get the title registered and changed over to me.... How much is the fee if its past the 30day mark stated on the title? Mine is way overdue. Some say just go in there and say you got the bike as a gift and dont mention it and they won't say anything, but just in case, anyone know how much the fee will be for being late??

I think there is a $10 late fee. That's all. My bike wasn't registered for quite a while, but when we finally got around to it, it wasn't as much as I thought.

im pretty sure there is no fee, they just register you for a lesser amount of time. for example, my car registration went out in december and i re registered it in may. for the normal amount ($50 something) the new registration would end the next december, not the next may.'

bike registration is $30.30 plus $11.50 if you live in harris county. so if you wanted a year of registration from today you would pay the 41.80 plus the amount of taxes on the bike plus the sticker cost, plus the plate cost, plus the additonal cost of keeping it registered for a year.

jeez....

That's what I did, too... there was a fee, but it may depend on county- I'm in Montgomery Co. You won't be punished by death or anything- it's okay.

no as long as your documents are in order(title) the same as everyone else, you wont have to worry about the tax if you own it already, and not just a new owner that bought from a guy in another state,

It actually says it on the title somewhere. I recall it being a very small amount (10 bucks or so) because I hurried and then was mad that I stressed over such a small fee.
