Question 50% chance of rain this Saturday

As many of you all know I am very new to track racing so I have 1 stupid question... I checked the weather channel and it says that there is a 50 percent chance of rain for this Saturday... Do you all still race around the track in the rain... Kind of freaks me out... Any advice???

1st your not track racing your riding @the track.
2nd you learn alot riding in the rain.

Calm down, chill out, and learn to trust your tires.

But like he said! You will be ok as long as you take it easy!

Most times when it rains the track dries out really quick and still manage to get in loads off seat time

I ran TWS (Texas World Speedway) in the rain, freaked me out at first, then James took me out and next thing you know we were passing people like they were sitting still..

Good luck, and glad I'm not you.

I just signed up for the n00b day, which will be my first. My one fear is it raining on my first TD.

Screw that PoPo!

1 Rain Day riding hard @ the track is more then 5 Dry track days! (for me atleast!)

It'll teach you all the stuff the people mentioned above plus more!

Du it du it! Your either gonna love it or hate it :P! But your gonna learn something either way!

Besides Buck has a good policy on rain, if its really unsafe they'll post pone the event - if its just a little rain then look at it as an oppurtunity to ride!

Heck i actually check the weather before a track day hoping it rains!

I don't think you QUITE qualify as a n00b. Even if by some miracle you DO ride that dat, I don't think you'll have to worry about me passing you.

I'll wait until my 3rd TD to pass ya on the outside.

I wish.

<<<------check my avatar, that's what happens when you get throttle happy in the rain....just take it easy and listen to the more experienced riders there. it takes alot more control to ride in the rain, but you'll learn alot from it.

Personally I only like to get wet when I'm surfing, swimming or running around naked in the shower trying to get wet.
Apart from that let it teach you to be smooth.
If you push it too soon you'll be pinching seat cushion buttons in your seat or washing mud off your bike.
Trust your tires and learn to be smooth. Did I mention learn to be smooth?

here is what you do.... find someone who knows how to ride in the rain, and get out and follow them.... You'll see what they can do and realize your bike can do that too. Thats what I did. I had NO CLUE what kind of traction you have out there.
