Insurance: If it sounds to good to be true it is.

Read the fine print of your policies. I was stupid and didn't. I lost around 2.5-3k on a bike last year. I had read so many peoples post praising the coverage and saying yeah they would replace you bike with the same one etc.... no matter if it was stolen 2months after purchase or 5 years blah blah blah.

To top it off I was dropped and they told me it was b/c my bike had been stolen within a year of the purchase of the policy.

Carefull of the last Star Fighter company.

Stolen or damaged/wrecked. Can't expect to recovered 100% of monetary value. You have use the vehicle therefor it is used and lost value/depreciate. I have known many people that financed gear and aftermarket parts and expect the insurance company to pay for total amount of the bill/OTD price. Guess what? If you think entitled to the full amount then you are crazy. If you got paid, you got lucky. This is like a month of usage on the bike and it was either totalled or stolen.

I agree 100% but this is not what was stated over and over by the representative on this very site. He was drilled more than once about this and he always stood behind his statement.
BTW I got paid thus I'm lucky? Please sir I pay for coverage and I expect to get the coverage I paid for. period the end.

BTW I would of rather my baby not be stolen but hey thats what insurance is for right?

depends on the policy, i have heard of policies that pay for gear replacement.

as for extra's, if you buy a $1000 exhaust, you need to inform your ins. agent and he will adjust the price of your policy accordingly. some times the price for OE stuff is more then aftermarket.

Statefarm screwed me twice about gear and aftermarket parts. The adjuster told me that those are paid pennies on the dollar for aftermarket part and refused to pay for gears.

I can recall quite a few claims or statements implying that
riders could get replacement value for the rides. What we're finding
out is that did not work/pan out.

I thought it was kinda humorous how everybody kept raving about how much money "the other guy" was saving them.
Well folks, it's cheaper for a reason. You get what you pay for. End of story.
Sorry you got screwed BC.

Who names their company after a 80's sci fi movie? That's pretty gay.

Insurance people are like car salesmen. They will tell you what you want to hear to make a sale. You have to read the fine print. The same agent you talk about said that I didn't have to carry extra coverage for custom equipment on my truck. But Texas state law states that I do. Good thing I knew quite a bit about that have'n been bitten once before. The insurance wouldn't pay for my spray in bedliner cause of this law.
