Which would you pick & why?

Just like the title says...

If you had a choice among the following - which would you pick and why?

a) 2007 Honda Repsol 1000rr - $9500

b) 2006 Yamaha 50th Ed. R1 - $8500

c) 2005 Suzuki GSXR 1000 (yellow/black) - $7500

Assume all are completely stock, clean and free title, less then 2000 miles & never been dropped.

Although i'd prefer answers like "the R1 coz its better handling" or "the repsol coz its got better midrange", However answers like "uhh the GSXR 1000 coz i like it" are totally fine aswell.

Thanks in advance..

Moe, is this bike for all around use or track use?

Also, have you sat on all of them / rode any of them?

While they're all similar in some ways, they each have their own character.

For street use I'd say which ever one you "sit" best on, as comfort will be the primary consideration.

In my experience, the GSXR is pretty comfortable and definitely has the most torque, and is a very good handling bike. Brakes are good, throttle response is unreal and the bike is stable yet very flicakable.

The CBR is fairly comfortable (it needs a Corbin seat IMO), and is very stable / confidence inspiring.
While it makes good power almost everywhere, it never really "hits with a rush" so some people, myself included, find the bike "uninspiring".
While fun to ride, I never really fell in love with mine.

The R1 is a fun bike, I rank it up there with the GSXR.
It's got less mid range pull, more like a stout 750 below 7500 rpm, but when it gets up in the revs, you better be sure where you want to go next, because you'll be there before you know it!

The bike handles well, but is somewhat picky about set up, and heat from the under seat exhaust, especially if the cat is still there, is bothersome.

Looks wise it all comes down to personal preference. I actually like the R1 and CBR (Not the '08) front fairing over the GSXR.

In closing, IMO, if I were in the market for a liter bike right now, I'd probably buy the GSXR.

Are you kidding me dude? I have'nt been on the street since forever!

Sometimes after working over 100 hours a week for several weeks i sit down and think...Is it really worth it? Is what we do really worth it? I mean yea racing and track days are fun, but what about like right now? Weather is great - but jus like you i got no street bike either.

You see where i'm getting? I'm thinking of getting either a liter bike or a motard, like an Aprilia 550. I don't know.

I guess its the off season syndrome kickin in

What patrick says.

Also, price rules, and the experience on all three bikes will be about the same. Throwing it away for the first time at the track you won't really care what color it is through the shower of sparks...

I'm not usually a big fan of Yamahas, but I'd go with the Yami.

Well he didn't have 2008 ZX-10R up there. Guess he wanted to give the other bikes a chance.

I'd go for the R1, especially if it is the LE... at that price is a steal.

that is the only reason i voted for the R1. Just in case it is the LE.

If not, Repsol CBR

Performance wise, they are all so close that, comfort and looks are the only reasons to base a decision on.
