Smile Hello motohouston!

I'm thinking about ridin'... thought I would try this site for more info. How old were you when you started riding, and how did you decide what bike was good for you?

I was 20 when I started riding. Was away in college. Parents would have never gone for it. I wanted something not too lame, but didn't have much money, so I got what they had at the dealership that I could afford, a 500 Interceptor for $1200.

My parents are cool with it... Even my grandparents ride.

I rode dirtbikes since I was really little, so that made the switch to streetbikes realy easy. On my 16th birthday I bought a LTD 750 and a Ninja. I git kicked out of the house for it but it was totally worth it!

A good first bike is one that YOU feel comfortable on. Dont let anyone pressure you into getting something too big or powerful if you dont feel safe on it. Saftey comes before coolness/pride.

Welcome to the site!

I was 15, and a CB400 Four was my first "street bike".

I'd had very minimal riding experience prior to that, maybe a ride or two on friends dirt bikes and mini bikes.

I was 31 when I started riding! I had ridden dirtbikes when I was young! I started out on a 1991 F2! I was a good choice for me!

I was a late bloomer for street riding. I rode anything and everything when I was a kid, but didn't get a street bike until I was 29. I talked to anybody and everybody that had experience with street bikes and asked their opinions on which bike was the best to start off with. Everyone suggested the ninja 250.

My son starts riding next year, and the only bike he'll be allowed to start on is the 250 as well. Just enough power to keep up on the roads, and not enough to get u into real trouble.

I was 18 when I started.

Talk to your Instructors during class about good bikes. And yes, we have a couple of Viragos.
