1. The weekend date is just that, a back to back Sat. or Sun. event.

2. You'd have to see if they're going to run both tracks or not at Cresson.
If they are, than they'll be running a slower group on the small trakc.
Try pm'ing Tomlstd, SBKpilot or jefflstd.
They'll be better able to answer your question.

Hey T

1) They seem to have reserved TWS (Texas World Speedway) for both sat and sunday events and I don't see it has anything to do with CMRA
3)Typically there are 3 groups but no beginner group. So turns into regular people(not beg), novice racer, and expert racers.

But if I remember correctly last year they had the reg non racer group on the other track.

Cresson this year will likely be the 3.1 mile track at every event there (stay tuned to the web site to verify).

We may do what we did for the last 2 years at Cresson with race weekends and do the non-racers on the "new" track, and the racers on the "old" track. However, if the CMRA races the 3.1, then we'll have the racers on the 3.1 also with no non-racer group (except the "b" group like normal race weekends).

TWS (Texas World Speedway) is a full weekend event, and should be a hoot! Watch the web site and mailing list for information on that.

If you're not on the mailing list, email wade@lstd.com to get on it.

I enjoyed the "new" track as well....hopefully they'll split it up. I enjoyed myself thoroughly minus crashing in T1/T2 in the first session

If they offer the "new" track as an option, I'll be sure to make my way up there

I don't know what the intention of the CMRA is for racing the whole course this year- I haven't seen anyone ask, and I haven't asked either... I guess I could shout at Walter to see what the dealio is. The holdup for running the 3.1 was the run-off and communications issues. Cresson has since made some improvements to the communications, and they spent a gob of money on landscaping to solve some run-off problems. I haven't been there, but I heard it's very nice.

If you love the "new" track out there, you'll absolutely gush over the 3.1. We were the first org to run the 3.1 when they opened it, and I thought it was the best track in the area, fer sher. I was really disappointed when the CMRA wasn't racing the whole thing, but understood the safety concerns.

As it is, I think we'll run the 3.1 on non-race weekends. On race weekends, we'll do the split gig (racers on one, trackday folks on the other), unless the CMRA is running the 3.1... then it'll be business as usual with 3 race groups and 1 "fast street" group.
