She's Sick.. - sputtering

98 GSXR 600,

It sputters when I try to go.. Checked plugs, and most of them were pretty nasty, so I replaced em... it drives fine sometimes, then cuts out, then goes, then cuts out..

On the freeway it will be going good, then if I nail the throttle, it like chokes, and almost seems like its going to die..

Doesn't sound good either when cruizing.. Sounds like a v-twin..

Any ideas? I believe its been jetted prior to me buying it, but I'm a n00b on motorcycle modifications, so I'm not sure. Seems like it didn't start doing it until It got cold outside. It was fine bacon scramble 1.0

Heeeeeellps!

you need a tune up from a REPUTABLE MC shop....with a 98, you're probably looking at needing new plugs, air filter, carb job & sync, etc....take it to the folks at Motorcycles Unlimited and I'm sure they will do a once over for free....

As said above; Valve job and thottle sync... But if its cutting out that bad, I'd be more worried about a fuel situation; clogging filter or net... assuming its carburated...

How did the air filter look?
Has the bike ever sat up for an extended period?
Has it run this way since you've owned it?

If you get a chance, bring it by and we'll listen to it and test ride it free of charge.

The bike ran awesome when I bought it..

It didn't start to act up until I went to the first bacon scramble.. Not sure what might of caused it..

I took off the tank and checked the filter, and its clean.. But on the first and second carb on the left side, has oil on it.. NO clue where its coming from. I searched and couldn't find a point. Air filter looks brand new..

Bike never sat for a long period of time. It was ridden daily

It sounds like you may have just picked up a bad load of fuel.
Try adding a water dispersent fuel additive to it.
